In the near future, Putin may ask North Korea not only for new shells, but also for tanks and artillery for the war against Ukraine.
As you know, the possibility of arms agreements between Russia and North Korea was recently announced by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by
Oleksandr Kovalenko,
a military-political commentator of the "Information Resistance" group,
in a comment for
TSN.ua.
"The amount of ammunition that North Korea can supply to Russia for the needs of the latter's artillery
cannot globally influence the situation in the war zone
. It can influence situationally, stabilize the situation for the Russians," says Oleksandr Kovalenko.
And he adds: "I mean, now there are many assumptions about how much ammunition they sent. There is information about 5 thousand containers, there is information about 1 thousand containers. But, most likely, the number is less than more. In recent months, the Russians have maintained an average rate of 10,000 rounds per day. I will remind you that they previously had 80,000 rounds per day. This does not mean that they have received a large enough amount of ammunition that they can use 24/7 in the format of a fire shaft .
This indicates that the supply of ammunition could be in the range of 200,000-400,000
".
According to Kovalenko, it is from this that we can conclude that North Korea sends artillery ammunition to Russia in a dosed manner and that they do not change the situation in the war zone, but can only temporarily stabilize it.
Putin will propose a new party
According to the expert, Putin will most likely ask North Korea for shells, tanks and armored combat vehicles.
"Putin will go to North Korea in the near future. Most likely, he will negotiate a new batch of ammunition. But not only. I do not rule out that he may also negotiate the supply of equipment. Namely, the supply of artillery, medium and heavy armored vehicles, tanks , BBM (armored combat vehicles - Red).
The benchmark will still be on artillery and tanks
," says Oleksandr Kovalenko.
Why does Korea give Russia ammunition in doses
Kovalenko answers this question as follows: "She herself does not have very many of them. Yes, North Korea has a military-industrial complex and in the last dozen years it has not been at war with anyone. It had the opportunity to accumulate potential. But taking into account what it has production capacity, it is not large enough to meet the needs of its military all the time. North Korea can export, not millions of millions. Hundreds of thousands of munitions can support the Russians, but will not allow them to have any victory or advantage at all, will not allow them to advance and don't stop."
To this, Kovalenko adds: "The Russians are now using the projectiles that they produce. They have reached the level where they are not using stocks, but exclusively their own production. This is approximately 1 million 700 thousand per year."
The situation with shells in the defense forces of Ukraine
"As for us, there are two options that can improve the situation," says Oleksandr Kovalenko. "
The first is if we see a consensus between Democrats and Republicans in the US Congress in the near future. The second option is if one or two more appear in the artillery coalition." parties that have a sufficiently high level of production of 155-caliber ammunition for artillery
.
But he adds: "We are talking about parties that did not participate in this coalition before. There are such countries in the world. We have fairly friendly relations with them, but we maintained mostly humanitarian relations with them. If they join the coalition, they will really be able compensate for the shortage of American ammunition".
Earlier it was reported that
Zaluzhny mentioned to Zelensky the problems that his probable successor will inherit
