The situation at the front now resembles the events of 1915 during the First World War, when both sides were in a state of fire equilibrium.

This opinion was expressed in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua by a military analyst, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Petro Chernyk and told when changes are possible at the front.

Chernyk believes that, by and large, the front has been static since the fall of last year.

"That's how we made a big "hole" in the "Surovikin line" 10 by 10 kilometers, that's a lot, since then we've been in a state of fire equilibrium. With the exception of Avdiyivka," the expert says.

He compared the current situation at the front with the events of the First World War.

"By historical analogy, we are in 1915 or 1917, the year of the First World War. 1916 was a breakthrough year: there was Verdun, there was also the Brusylov operation, that is, there were certain movements. In 1917, everything froze. In 1918 At the beginning of the year, the so-called "offensive of the Kaiser" took place, and then the 100-day offensive of the Allies, which ultimately ended World War I. So we are roughly somewhere in those parallels," Chernyk notes.

The expert notes that now artillery and infantry are mainly working at the front.

And all this must be reinforced with an aviation component and at least several hundred long-range missiles.

At the same time, Chernyk emphasizes that the F-16 will not become a panacea for the Armed Forces - all branches of the military must act in a coordinated manner.

Earlier, the Pentagon assumed what would happen if the war in Ukraine was frozen.
