Scientists are studying the case of a

“hypervaccinated”

man who,

apparently, has received 217 doses against the covid-19 virus,

a record number.

According to a study published in the journal Lancet Infectious Diseases, the patient received dozens of doses of the vaccine over a period of 29 months

“for personal reasons.”

Likewise, researchers from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg reported that

the 62-year-old individual, originally from Magdeburg, Germany, did not present “any signs” of having been infected with the virus that causes covid-19

and had not manifested any side effect related to vaccination.

The academics learned about the case when reading a newspaper report and asked if they could study his body's response to multiple doses.

“We discovered his case in press articles,”

explained Dr. Kilian Schober.

He continued: “We then contacted him and invited him to undergo various tests in Erlangen.

He was very interested in doing it.”

According to what the team of experts declares, there are official records of 134 of these doses that the man received and some correspond to eight different types of vaccines.

“Given that no notable side effects were triggered despite this unusual hypervaccination, the finding indicates that the body demonstrates a good degree of tolerance to these drugs,” added the academic.

Researchers examined previous blood tests the man had had and also studied blood samples taken as he received more doses.

“The patient underwent several blood tests in recent years

and authorized us to analyze the results of these studies.

In some cases, the samples obtained were frozen, so we were able to review them on our own,” Schober said.

Furthermore, he explained:

“We also took blood samples ourselves when the man, at his own insistence, received other doses during the study

.

“We then used these samples to determine exactly how the immune system reacted to the vaccination.”

As a result, experts discovered that his immune system responded correctly.

In fact, they reported that certain immune cells and other antibodies against the Sars-CoV-2 virus were present at much higher levels compared to people who had received only three doses of the vaccine.

“In general, we did not find any indication of a weaker immune response, in fact, quite the opposite

,” said Katharina Kocher, one of the main authors of the experiment.

UK citizens will have received a maximum of seven doses through the initial vaccination program and then corresponding booster doses.

On the other hand, many working-age adults without underlying illnesses will have received three doses: two in the initial schedule and one booster.
