Zaluzhny's remarks came during an interview with The Economist magazine that Russia has improved its air defenses and has a test version of the S-400 missiles that can reach the city of Dnieper.Zaluzhny also complained that Western weapons supplied to Ukraine are losing their usefulness due to the West's slow supply, thanks to which Russia was able to quickly improve its weapons, adding that the new missiles in the S-400 systems made the American F-16 fighter jets "less useful" for Ukraine, which is supposed to be delivered next year. "By delaying the supply of long-range missile systems and tanks, the West allowed Russia to regroup and strengthen its defenses. These systems were more necessary for us last year, but they only appeared this year." Zaluzhny acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, that his forces could not make any real breakthrough at the front and that all calculations were wrong, adding: "As in the First World War, we have reached a deadlock in the level of technology. "A suitable solution must be found, mastered quickly, and used to achieve a quick victory because sooner or later we will discover that we simply do not have enough people to keep fighting," Zaluzhny concluded.
