River Plate and Boca Juniors tied 1-1 on Sunday in the "classic" that pitted the most popular clubs in Argentine soccer against each other on the seventh date of the League Cup.

In the match, played at the Monumental stadium in front of 85,000 fans, River started better with the management of the actions against an opponent who had difficulties finding the ball.

The local team created the clearest opportunity in the 22nd minute through a shot by Facundo Colidio from outside the area that hit one of the goal posts protected by Sergio Romero.

From that moment on, Boca evened the game thanks to the ball handling of its midfielders without bringing danger to the opposing goal.

In the second stage, River opened the scoring quickly with a goal from Pablo Solari in the 48th minute, after a long run from the middle of the field.
