The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia,
Ararat Mirzayan
, said that the country's cooperation with the European Union is aimed at ensuring the country's economic stability and diversification of its economic resources.
"We are aimed at further deepening our relations with the European Union as much as the European Union is ready for it," the state news agency Armenpress quoted the minister as saying.
In March, Armenia officially announced the termination of the work of Russian border guards at the Yerevan airport.
In February, the Armenian authorities announced the freezing of the country's participation in the CSTO.
Shortly after that, the speaker of the country's parliament, Alen Simanyan, called for the withdrawal of the border service officers of the FSB of Russia from Yerevan's Zvartnots airport.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Simanyan's statement was called an example of "unfriendly behavior".
