According to the movement's media office, at least five employees of the World Central Kitchen charitable organization were killed in the Israeli strike.

Among the dead were people from Poland, Australia, and a British citizen, in addition to a Palestinian.

How did the Israeli army comment on the incident?

The Israeli army said in a statement: “Following reports regarding World Central Kitchen employees in Gaza today, the army is conducting a comprehensive review at the highest levels to understand the circumstances of this tragic incident.”

The statement added: “The Israeli army is making intense efforts to enable the safe delivery of humanitarian aid, and is working closely with the organization in their vital efforts to provide food and humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.”

The war in Gaza began after Hamas gunmen attacked Israeli towns on October 7, which Israeli statistics indicate killed 1,200 people and took 253 hostages.

Israel responded by imposing a complete siege on Gaza, then launched an air and ground attack that killed more than 32,000 Palestinians, according to health authorities in the Strip.
