THE XIV Americas Rifle and Pistol Championship of Buenos Aires 2024, in Argentina, proposes its first finals and Olympic ticket deliveries for this Tuesday.

The contestants in the 10-meter air pistol, in both sexes, will inaugurate a distribution of medals planned for 10 events. The first tickets for that event will also be awarded for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, at a rate of one in the eight individual events.

For the qualifying round of the pneumatic pistol, Jorge Grau appears in sixth place on the starting list and his partner Laina Pérez in 21st, according to what was announced on the tournament website.

The second date foresees eliminations in the three-position rifle at 50 meters for men and women, which will mark the debut of the also Cubans Dianelys Pérez, Lisbet Hernández and Rainier Quintanilla, who, if they advance, would fight for the medals on Wednesday. That day the title in the mixed team 10 meter air pistol will also be discussed.

The calendar reserves for Thursday the finals in the 25-meter pistol for women and for Friday the 10-meter air rifle finals for both sexes. On Saturday, the penultimate day of competitions, the mixed air rifle teams will seek the podium.

168 athletes from 21 countries will compete at the Argentine Federal Shooting Range. The Cuban team is also made up of gunmen Jorge Félix Álvarez and Alejandro Delgado.

The group is led by the Olympic champion in the 25-meter rapid fire pistol, Leuris Pupo, the only Cuban qualifier in this sport for the Parisian event this summer. His modality will be played on Sunday.

Within the framework of the championship, open tournaments will be held in standard pistol at 25 meters and prone rifle at 50 meters, the finals of which are planned for Saturday. In the open free pistol competition at 50 meters the medals will be awarded at the Sunday closing.
