The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) urged the international community this Thursday to adopt “effective measures” to reinforce security after the escalation of violence and insecurity that Haiti is going through and called to celebrate extraordinary elections in that country.
“Once again, the IACHR strongly urges the international community to seek and/or promote comprehensive and lasting solutions to the crisis through a process of peaceful and inclusive dialogue, free and fair elections, and the strengthening of security mechanisms.” ", reported the IACHR through a statement published this Thursday on its website.

The international organization urged the countries of the Caribbean region and Latin America to activate a multinational support mission “to guarantee the de-escalation of violence and maintain the rule of law.”
