DAR ES SALAAM:

The National Reserves Organization TANAPA has said that for the fiscal year 2023/2024 from July 2023 to March 19, 2024, the organization has collected Sh340 billion, compared to the expectation of collecting Sh295 billion, until March 2024.

This was said on March 21, 2024 by the Commissioner of Conservation TANAPA, Juma Kuji in a meeting with editors and journalists coordinated by the treasurer's office to explain the success of TANAPA during the three years of President Samia Suluhu Hassan in power.

He said that the amount of Sh340 billion is an increase of Sh44 billion, which is equal to 15 percent while the organization has the expectation of collecting an amount of Sh382 billion, until June 2024.

Regarding the increase in tourists in the country and how to increase the attractions in the National Parks and improve tourist services Deputy Commissioner of Conservation, Herman Batio has said that they have continued with the promotion of tourism in the Western region including the construction of a modern hotel with 3 star status in the National Park Chato.

Talking about the construction of concrete level roads within National Reserves such as the Serengeti Conservation Assistant Commissioner TANAPA Dr. Richard Matoro said the challenge is the availability of funds as the cost is high due to the size of the areas of the reserves, and what they are doing now is to continue with the scriptures to see how they will solve the challenge while continuing to repair them so that they are passable.

The chairman of the editors' forum in the country (TEF), Deodatus Balile has advised TANAPA to ensure that they protect the burial places of various national leaders and act as places of national memory as well as build an open library of elephant teeth to encourage people to stop illegal hunting of these animals .
