BLAST has announced that it will organize the first CS:GO Major of 2023 in the city of Paris, France, on May 8-21.

Qualifying tournaments for the major regional rankings before the Major will take place in February and March, while the RMR (Regional Major Ranking) will take place from April 3rd to 9th.

The event in Paris will be the first Major to be held in France, and the first organized by the BLAST company, following numerous requests from the community.

The news follows French President Emmanuel Macron's comments from his election campaign in April, where he promised to support the country's eSports scene, and his desire for France to host a CS:GO Major and other eSports events in the future.

Macron released a video on Twitter on Sunday, revealing that Paris will host BLAST's CS:GO Major in May at the Accor Arena, ahead of the announcement released by BLAST itself.
