Shreyas Iyer out of BCCI contract

New Delhi:

Recently, BCCI took a big decision and removed Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan from the central contract, and the Indian cricket world was once surprised.

Since then, different statements and reports continue to come on the matter.

It is clear that both Ishan Kishan and Iyer had to face the punishment for not following the instructions of BCCI.

Ishan had clearly said that he was not ready for the red ball, while Iyer had withdrawn from the quarterfinal match against Baroda citing back pain, while NCA physio Nitin Patel had said that Iyer should There is no pain and he is completely fit.

Iyer did not make a mistake here.

After withdrawing from the Ranji quarterfinal match, Iyer was seen at the academy of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

And this is what angered Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar.

Obviously, this was a case of complete indiscipline which after passing the first stage became a challenge to all the stakeholders including the Chief Selectors, which was very wrong in every respect.

Iyer's record is very excellent

The factor of Iyer going to KKR Academy without playing matches played an important role in not offering him a contract.

Agarkar played a big role in finalizing a total of 30 names of contract players.

And they decided not to include Iyer's name in the contract.

After this entire controversy, Iyer has now declared himself available for the semi-final match to be played against Tamil Nadu.

29-year-old Iyer scored 530 runs in 11 innings at an average of 66.25 in the World Cup 2023.

This includes two centuries and three half-centuries.

Test form was bad

Well, when it comes to red-ball cricket, Iyer's form has not been good.

Since the year 2023, he has scored only 187 runs in 12 innings at an average of just 17.

This was the reason why coach Rahul Dravid and the selectors wanted Iyer to gain confidence by playing Ranji Trophy matches and scoring runs.

Iyer had scored 104 runs in four innings of the ongoing series against England.

Ishan and Iyer were getting this much amount

Last year, Ishan and Iyer were in C and B categories respectively.

Under this, Ishan was getting Rs 1 crore annually and Shreyas Iyer was getting Rs 3 crore.

Obviously, their image and brand have suffered more loss than money.

In such a situation, it has to be seen what attitude BCCI takes regarding them in future.

And how do these two save themselves?
