Tamil Nadu government minister Udhayanidhi Stalin had given a controversial statement regarding Sanatan Dharma.

Chennai:

Madras High Court has given relief to Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin and A Raja on their statement regarding Sanatan Dharma.

The High Court (Madras High Court) has rejected the petition filed against DMK leaders.

A petition was filed demanding the removal of Udhayanidhi Stalin, PK Shekhar Babu as MLA and DMK MP A Raja from the post of MP regarding Sanatan Dharma.

DMK leaders filed a writ petition against this petition in Madras High Court.

Hearing this, the bench of High Court Chief Justice Anita Sumant gave relief to the DMK leaders and dismissed the petition filed against them.

Lawyer P Wilson said that Hindu Munnani's team had filed a quo warranto petition against DMK leaders, which was rejected by the High Court.

In September last year, DMK leader and Tamil Nadu government minister Udhayanidhi Stalin had compared Sanatan Dharma with dengue and malaria and had talked about eliminating Sanatan Dharma.

There was a lot of uproar in the country over the statement of Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Many FIRs were filed against the DMK leader.

An organization named Hindu Munnani had filed a petition demanding the removal of DMK leaders from their posts over the controversial statement.

Now the High Court said that Stalin's statement was wrong, but till now no court has found him guilty.

However, the High Court said that comparing Sanatan Dharma with HIV, malaria and dengue is against constitutional principles.

People holding constitutional posts should not make divisive statements.
