The mayor of the White Church of the Kyiv region, Hennadiy Dykiy, joins the ranks of

. The mayor has a military rank.

Dykiy announced this on March 30 in a video message published on Facebook.

"I have the military rank of an officer, as well as a military specialty. I am an air defense officer. I have decided to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with millions of our fellow citizens, I will stand up for the defense of the state," said Dykiy.

According to the mayor, the city "stands on strong positions". In particular, new jobs are created, the infrastructure is prepared for possible enemy attacks.

By the way, Gennady Dyky is 54 years old. He heads the White Church since 2015. Last year, in December, he received the award of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces - the "For the assistance of the army" badge.

As reported, 

 This happened after the resounding information of one of the officials of the regional TCC of Ivano-Frankivsk region that currently about 39,000 names of residents of Prykarpattia are entered in the "Oberig" register and are wanted because they did not appear at the TCC.
