In the summer in Ukraine, blackouts and restrictions on electricity consumption are possible.
Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, announced this at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
According to him, Ukrainians should be prepared for the fact that there will be certain restrictions in the second half of July and in August, when the summer peak of electricity consumption falls.
"Now we are lucky that we are in the spring lower peak of consumption. And at the same time, the hydropower that can is working at full capacity - a lot of water, everything is quite comfortable. In the summer, unfortunately, the situation will change. We expect that the summer consumption peak will be in the second half of July and in August," Oleksandr Kharchenko warned.
We will remind you that on the night of March 29, the Russian Federation massively attacked energy facilities. Thermal and hydropower plants in the central and western regions were damaged. As a result of the massive attack, infrastructure was damaged in the Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Cherkasy, and Chernivtsi regions.
