Ukrainian singer
Tonya Matvienko
performed the song "
Kvitka dusha
" from "Miss Ukraine Universe 2023"
Angelina Usanova
for a charitable purpose.
This is the first performance of Tonya Matvienko's composition without her mother,
Nina Mitrofanivna
.
So, the unexpected duet performed in Vienna at the charity musical evening "PEACE. We Can Overcome War", organized by Angelina Usanova.
The proceeds were used to support children from the frontline regions of Ukraine who suffered from the full-scale invasion.
According to Toni, at first the song was difficult for her, but later she looked at it from a different angle.
"I didn't even want to at first. When my mother passed away, literally two weeks later I had my first concert. It was planned a long time ago and I couldn't refuse it, because people came and waited. I couldn't perform this song. I played "minus" and I just cried through the whole song. And now there is a tremendous connection with my mother through the song. I don't know how to explain it. It's like I'm meeting her at this moment. I looked at this situation in a different way," the singer said in the "ZhVL" program.
As Matvienko admits, she is satisfied with the cooperation with "Miss Ukraine Universe 2023":
"We need to give a chance to continue all this so that everyone can sing along. Angelina is very bright. I like her very much. She looks like my eldest daughter. In fact, my daughter is standing next to me," the artist added.
We will remind, recently 8-year-old daughter Toni Matvienko
sang touchingly with her father
Arsen Mirzoyan on stage.
