Why is Bharatpur Hindi Sahitya Samiti being auctioned?

Hindi Sahitya Samiti Bharatpur:

The government often talks about saving literature. Campaigns are also run for this. But in reality the picture looks somewhat opposite. The proof of this is the Hindi Sahitya Samiti located in Bharatpur, Rajasthan which is 112 years old and preserves 450 years old heritage. But the irony is that the sword of auction is now hanging over it. Due to lack of financial support from the state government, the salaries of the employees working here have been stopped for 6 months. The situation is such that now there is talk of auctioning the salaries of the employees to the Hindi Sahitya Samiti. The court has also sent the auction notice. Its last date was 16 February but now it has been canceled immediately. But now a decision on this will be taken again on February 19.

The committee had an important contribution even during the freedom struggle. But despite this, no work is being done by the state government to save this heritage. However, Hindi Sahitya Samiti is also becoming a victim of politics. Because of this its financial condition has deteriorated.

Money not received even after passing budget of Rs 5 crore

It is said that during the Gehlot government of Congress, a budget of Rs 5 crore was announced for Bharatpur Hindi Sahitya Samiti. However, out of this only Rs 1.11 crore was given to the committee. The remaining money has not been received even today. The committee was running with the money received. But now the committee does not have money to pay salaries to the employees. Let us tell you, in the year 2003, Hindi Sahitya Samiti was brought under the government. Despite this, the employees working here have not been able to get their salaries on time.

At the same time, now Bhajan Lal Sharma's government is in Rajasthan. But till now no decision has been taken regarding Hindi Sahitya Samiti. Recently the Bhajan Lal government has presented the budget in the Assembly but no announcements were made in it to save the Hindi Sahitya Samiti.

Now the employees who are left here have spoken in the court about auctioning the Hindi Sahitya Samiti for salary.

Committee has 450 years old heritage

Hindi Sahitya Samiti, established in 1912, has more than 1500 manuscripts, books on 44 subjects and other literature dating back 450 years. Many famous personalities including Rabindranath Tagore, Madan Mohan Malviya, Morarji Desai, Ram Manohar Lohia have come here. But due to budget constraints, this institution is on the verge of being auctioned. The people associated with the committee request the present government to save this institution from becoming a sapphire.

The date of auction was 16th February

The court had sent a notice to the Hindi Sahitya Samiti for auction, in which the date was initially given as 16th January but then it was changed to 16th February. However, the court has again put an immediate stay on this. But now this matter is to be heard again on February 19. It is believed that if the Bhajan Lal government of the state does not take an immediate decision on this, then the date for auctioning it will be re-released.

Let us tell you, the petition regarding salary and auction has been given in the court by employees Trilok Chandra and Dau Dayal. It is being told that they have not received their salary since August 2023 last year.
