Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the BJP does not believe in "family planning" in politics and always welcomes new allies. He said that talks are going on with Shiromani Akali Dal. In an event, Amit Shah stressed that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) will be implemented before the Lok Sabha elections. He predicted that BJP will win 370 seats, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will get more than 400 out of 543 seats in the elections.

He said that there is no doubt about the results of the Lok Sabha elections and even the Congress and other opposition parties have realized that they will have to sit in the opposition again.

Asked about the possibility of Jayant Chaudhary-led Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and some other regional parties joining the NDA, the Home Minister hinted at more parties joining the ruling alliance. . He said that BJP "believes in family planning but does not adopt it in politics."

When asked again about the possibility of Shiromani Akali Dal joining, Shah said, "Talks are on but nothing has been decided."

Amit Shah said that the 2024 elections will not be between NDA and the opposition alliance 'India' (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), but between development and those who merely give slogans.

When asked about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', the Home Minister said that the Nehru-Gandhi scion has no right to undertake such a journey as his party was responsible for the partition of the country in 1947.
