The German public chose me not because I am gay, not because I look good, not because of music, not because of points - they voted for my character, for me as a person, for my will and courage. It was leading who I am. You go into this show knowing what could happen to you. I decided to enter because I am a person for whom victories and challenges are very important.
This is what Lucie Djakovska told bTV for the first time after returning as the winner of the German reality TV show "I am a star - get me out of here". The Bulgarian singer became the Queen of the Jungle and won the €100,000 prize after eating a tarantula, scorpion and pig uterus in Australia.
She explained that she entered the show to discover herself.
"Very rarely have I been given confirmation that the things I do are really good. There are very few people in my life who have been able to challenge me to work on myself and become a better person. All my life I have tried to I prove it. especially in front of my mother. We had clashes with her even about my sexuality," said Lucy Djakovska.
She admitted she was in a relationship but decided to keep her partner's name private, explaining: "I don't want something so beautiful to be exposed to the public."
The popular Bulgarian singer was announced as the winner on Sunday night live in the show, after the viewers voted en masse for her.
The show is of the type of "Survivor", in which 12 popular personalities spent several weeks in the Australian jungle, subjected to all kinds of extreme experiences.
The 47-year-old Lucie Djakovska, who became famous in Germany as a member of the now-defunct girl group Now Angels, the 23-year-old influencer Twenty4Tim and the 27-year-old reality star Leila Lahouar reached the final. The three had to deal with different challenges. The last test for the Bulgarian was quite disgusting.
She had to eat tarantula and scorpion, a cocktail of minced fish, camel, pig and beef eyes, and finally she was served a pig's uterus. Lucy managed to swallow the last bite of all the nastiness.
Twenty4Tim had to spend five minutes lying in a pit full of snakes. He also passed his test. However, Leila Lahuar failed and could not last the allotted time, covered in meat waste and billions of mealworms that were sprouting all over her body.
The viewers had to choose between Lucy Djakovska and Twenty4Tim who would grab the check for 100,000 euros. And the Bulgarian got the most votes. The first thing she screamed upon hearing that she was the Queen of the Jungle was, "Mommy!" and looked up to the sky. And then burst into tears. Yesterday, the day after her victory, marks 4 years since the loss of her mother.
