26 secondary physics TEACHERS from 13 government schools in Dar es Salaam, have been asked to use the various skills, knowledge and methods they have acquired to enable students to understand and love the subject, in order to increase success.

Dar es Salaam Region Vocational Education Officer, Mussa Kalanja has made the call, at the conclusion of the training for the teachers organized by the Department of Physics, University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).

Kalanja has said that he understands that teaching the subject and making it popular is not an easy thing, but it requires an understanding of the subject, commitment, patience, financial resources and time to prepare various teaching materials.

He has said that such training will be the key to success in increasing the number and level of students who take the subject and science in large numbers in schools and colleges.

And the Head of the Department of Physics at the University of Dar es Salaam, Nuru Mlyuka, has said that the training for teachers began to be given from 2020 until now twice a year, the aim being to provide those methods, so that students understand and love the subject.

"What is being done is various methods to ensure that every child participates in learning, others are not left behind and others participate," he said.

He has said that Tanzania wants to build a science and technology economy towards an industrial economy, in order to get those experts, it is necessary to start from the lower levels, so that children like studies and succeed.

Teacher Aveline Chugulu from Minazi Mirefu Secondary School, has said that the training provides methods for teachers, so that they can teach students not to be afraid of physics lessons.
