In terms of battery life, 200 kilometers will be introduced in Taiwan as soon as next year

Daimler Truck, which is independent from the Mercedes-Benz Group, held a media night before the launch of this year's Hannover Motor Show in Germany, and made the first appearance of a variety of electric trucks, including the latest generation of eCanter (Kanda Electric Vehicle), Vehicles such as eActros, eAtego, and eCitaro, among which the new-generation eCanter, has a chance to be introduced to Taiwan in the second half of 2022 at the earliest.

The eCanter, released in 2017, was unveiled at the Hannover Motor Show in 2018, providing a range of 100 kilometers, and has since been launched in Japan, North America, Europe, and New Zealand.

In 5 years of commercial operation and more than 6 million kilometers of driving, it has injected more experience into the development of the new generation of eCanter.

Karl Deppen, CEO of Daimler Commercial Vehicles Asia

Compared with the previous one, the interior layout of the car has not changed much, mainly for practical appeal, but safety assistance systems such as Active Brake Assist 5 and Active Sideguard Assist are still added.

Karl Deppen, CEO of Daimler Asia Commercial Vehicles, personally demonstrated the new generation of eCanter launched this year. This generation offers three cruising ranges, 70 kilometers for the S, 140 kilometers for the M and 200 kilometers for the L.

Karl Deppen said that through this kind of planning, it can provide more flexibility for driving when using the car. Like this generation of eCanter, AC/DC charging can be adopted.

With two cabs of 1695mm standard and 1995mm comfort, plus six different wheelbases from 2500mm to 4750mm, more than 100 models will be available worldwide.

Powered by two electric motors of 110kW and 129kW, the eCanter of different tonnages has an optimised drivetrain and 430Nm of torque.

The new generation of eCanter in Europe will also add a new generation of Active Brake Assist 5 and Active Sideguard Assist.

At the press conference, Karl Deppen also announced that the new generation of eCanter will be launched in Europe in the fourth quarter of this year, followed by Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore and other countries, and Taiwan is expected to launch in the second half of next year at the earliest.
