The 2022 MG HS mid-size SUV range has lost its cheapest variant – even though it accounted for more than a quarter of the model's overall sales last year.

The €30,100 HS Core has been dropped from MG's mid-size SUV lineup in July 2022, just 18 months after it hit the market in January 2021 for "just" €29,220.

A spokesman for Australia's MG Motor gave no reason for the Core's exit from the market – but it's unlikely to be a lack of popularity, as separate sales figures for the Drive earlier show that out of 6,828 HS models sold last year, nearly 28 percent of cars sold were from the Core model, Telegrafi reports.

The discontinuation of the Core leaves the Vibe as the cheapest HS model on sale, priced at €31,168.

The entire range reaches the price of up to 42,860 euros with gasoline engines, while the hybrid model reaches the price of 50,362 euros.

There aren't any new features added to the HS models during this period, apart from the metallic paint on the Plus EV, which previously cost around €700 more to pay, but is now included in the price of the PHEV, due to the removal of the livery. single free of charge, Clipper Blue.

Standard features on the new Vibe include 17-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, leatherette upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, six speakers, rear parking sensors and a full set of advanced security features.
