Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has conducted a test drive of the first prototype of the Turkish TOGG car, in the Turkish province of Kocaeli.

"We hope that the official opening of the TOGG factory in Gemlik will take place on October 28," Erdogan said, Telegraph reports.

He emphasized that the TOGG car will appear on the roads of Turkey in the first quarter of 2023.

"We will make the Turkish car accessible to our people and the world, despite those who say: 'You can't do it, you won't produce it,'" added the Turkish president.

The TOGG company was founded in 2018, when the electric car prototype was presented for the first time.

TOGG aims to produce one million cars in five different classes by 2030. /Telegrafi/
