The Aero ID concept, which announces the arrival of Volkswagen's first global all-electric sedan, will debut on June 27th.

It is a model that was originally supposed to debut in China at the end of April, but due to the postponement of the car fair in Beijing, the digital presentation of the pre-production concept is scheduled for June 27th.

Volkswagen Aero

, known locally as the Aero B, announces Volkswagen's first global all-electric production sedan, which should help the German company accelerate its electric offensive as part of its Accelerate strategy.

The sketches revealing the look of the front of the concept were seen during the Volkswagen Group's annual press conference on March 15, and now the profile and rear view have been unveiled.

As its name suggests, the Volkswagen ID Aero is a very aerodynamic car with a sharp exterior design with a low front end and a sloping cup-shaped roofline.

This design helps reduce power consumption and increase range.

The rear looks quite conventional for car ID, has horizontal LED lights attached to a light strip.

The four-door sedan promises a spacious interior that will be its trump card in the upper-middle-class segment.

Like existing models from the ID family, ID Aero is based on the MEB platform, and its distance is 700 kilometers.

In production form, the model will appear in 2023, initially in China, and later in North America and Europe.

A choice can be expected between rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and all model IDs will receive GTX versions that will use the most powerful two-electric motor configuration.

The Aero GTX will accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in about 5.6 seconds.

The production version of the ID Aero model will serve as the electrical equivalent of the Passat model with conventional power.

Sales begin in the second half of 2023 in China, after which the model comes to the markets of North America and Europe.

The model for the Chinese market will be produced locally, while copies of the ID model will be produced.

Aero for Europe and North America will be produced at the factory in Emden, Germany, where production of the electric SUV ID.4 has recently begun.
