Al-Ahly achieved a 1-0 victory over its guest, Young Africans of Tanzania, thanks to a goal scored by Hussein El-Shahat in the 46th minute.

Al-Ahly topped the fourth group, with three wins and three draws, and reached the quarter-finals of the tournament, with Young Africans, who came in second, superior in direct confrontations to Algeria’s CS Belouizdad.

Al-Ahly will face one of the teams that will finish second in the other three groups.

  • Among the possibilities are the loser of the match between Congolese Mazembe and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns, who will come in second.

  • The second possibility is Simba of Tanzania or Wydad of Morocco, who will snatch the second seat between them.

  • The third possibility is Esperance of Tunisia, Al Hilal of Sudan, or Petro Atletico of Angola.

    The second-placed team may face Al-Ahly.
