By excluding Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from its central contract, BCCI has given a clear message to the players that they will have to play in Ranji Trophy.

Ishan Kishan was constantly maintaining distance from Ranji.

Ishan Kishan has maintained distance from Ranji Trophy after withdrawing from the tour against South Africa.

During this, Rahul Dravid had made it clear that Ishaan will have to play Ranji to return to the team.

But Ishan Kishan was seen practicing with the Pandya brothers in Baroda to prepare for the IPL.

BCCI had made it clear that the players getting central contracts from the board will have to play Ranji.

But Ishan Kishan stayed away from Ranji.

On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer, who was out of Team India due to injury after playing the first two matches of the Test series against England, also stayed away from Ranji.

Media reports claimed that Shreyas Iyer had filed a complaint in the bench, but the NCA clarified that Iyer was not injured.

After this, BCCI decided to exclude these two players from the central contract.

Since then, many veterans have given their opinion on this issue.

Now Kapil, who won the first World Cup for India, has made it clear on this issue that this cricket board has taken a step forward for first-class cricket.

Kapil Dev said, "I am very happy that the cricket board has taken a step forward for first-class cricket. Boys must play it, it is good for the country.'

Whatever is good for the country, I am happy in it. Yes, some players will suffer...some will suffer...let it happen, but no one is greater than the country. Very good."
