Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer Excluded: Now both Ishan and Iyer have big questions in front of them.

New Delhi:

The news that was coming from BCCI sources for the last few weeks proved to be absolutely correct.

And finally, the board did not give place to both Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer among the 30 players announced for the annual contract for the year 2023-24 (BCCI Central Contract).

Last year, while Shreyas Iyer was included in "B category", Ishan Kishan was in C category.

Iyer was getting Rs 3 crore annually, while Ishan was getting Rs 1 crore.

Obviously, both will have to suffer huge losses in terms of money, reputation, advertising etc.

But from what had happened in recent times, it was clear that BCCI will definitely take some big decision to give a strong message to the players.

And this became completely clear after the announcement of the names of the players declared for contract.

Earlier there were reports that BCCI can also make an option to increase the salary of the players, but in the end it was decided to leave this option and keep these two out.

This great neglect proved costly.

When these two players did not play in Ranji Trophy following the instructions of the Indian coach and management in domestic cricket, many former cricketers including Irfan Pathan had raised questions and the media was also making noise.

In such a situation, when the echo reached BCCI, Secretary Jai Shah had clearly said that the players will have to listen to the instructions of the coach, team management and selection committee.

Shah had asked the star players to play the last round match of the league stage of Ranji Trophy, but neither Ishan Kishan nor Shreyas Iyer followed the instructions of the Board Secretary.

While Ishan kept doing net practice to overcome technical glitches, videos of Shreyas Iyer's ad shoot surfaced.

Obviously any parental organization will take action against this attitude.

Ignoring the instructions of the Board Secretary proved costly for both of them.

Now only time will tell how heavy this proves to be.

Now this big question has arisen

With both Iyer and Ishan out of the central contract, the question now is whether their names will be considered for the upcoming series?

India has to play a lot of Test, ODI and T20 cricket in the season.

In such a situation, it remains to be seen what view the selection committee takes regarding these two, while the bigger question now is whether Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer will play in the T20 World Cup to be held in June?
