In the first round match, the 21-year-old native of Kyiv (No. 34 WTA) beat the American Anne Lee (No. 167 WTA), who made it to the main draw through qualification.

The match lasted 2 hours and 13 minutes and ended with the victory of the Ukrainian in three sets - 6:4, 4:6, 6:2.

By the way, this was the second personal meeting of tennis players.

This time Marta took revenge for the defeat in the first match.

In the 1/8 finals, Kostyuk will compete with the winner of the duel between Australian Tyla Preston (No. 153 WTA) and Polish Magdalena French (No. 42 WTA).
