The independent appeals board considered

Everton's

Ukrainian defender Vitaly Mykolenko's appeal against the

decision to deprive the club of 10 points

for violating the rules of financial fair play.

As reported on the official website of the Premier League, the "Toffees" reduced the number of points taken from 10 to 6.

Thus, 4 points were returned to the Merseyside club in the standings of the current draw of the English championship.

Therefore, after the return of four scoring points, Mykolenko's team had 25 points.

This allowed Sean Dyche's men to climb the table from 17th to 15th.

The gap between the Toffees and the relegation zone increased to 5 points.

By the way, in the next round of the EPL, the Merseyside club will host West Ham on March 2.

It will be recalled that in November of last year, Everton was found guilty of violating the Rules of Profitability and Sustainable Development (PSRs) of the Premier League.

An independent panel found that the Toffees had breached the PSRs for the period ending in the 2021/22 season.

The commission found that the club's calculations for the relevant period resulted in a loss of £124.5m - the permitted limit is £106m.
