Ravichandran Ashwin: Ashwin took 5 wickets in the second innings on the third day in Ranchi.

Ranchi:

On the third day of the ongoing fourth Test against England in Ranchi, Ravichandra Ashwin showed that he is not finished yet.

After the last three Tests, a section of critics were pointing fingers at this off-spinner, but Ravichandran Ashwin has given a befitting reply to the critics by taking five wickets on the third day of the match.

And after his performance, Sunil Gavaskar has given him a very out-of-box suggestion.

Now whether BCCI accepts this or not, it remains to be seen.

Gavaskar on Sunday suggested that Indian captain Rohit Sharma should give off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, whose 100th Test match, a chance to lead the team in the fifth and final Test match against England in Dharamsala.

Ashwin is currently playing his 99th test match here.

This 37-year-old bowler took 5 wickets for 51 runs in England's second innings.

This is the 35th time that Ashwin has taken 5 or more wickets in an innings.
