New Delhi:

India made a very good start against England in the third Test (4th Test) which started on Sunday in Ranchi.

At one time India had lost 5 wickets to England for 112 runs, but from here on.

Root (Joe Root) and captain Ben Stokes (47) made a good contribution in trying to get their team back on track by adding 113 runs for the sixth wicket.

Ben Stokes was out badly, but former captain Joe Root anchored the pitch.

And no Indian bowler could make any impact on the route.

And amidst all this, Root performed such a feat against Ashwin, which will continue to trouble him a lot.

Root proved with his batting that he has the necessary and excellent technique to anchor on Indian pitches.

And he gave proof against Ashwin who has achieved the record of great Indian bowler.

Yes, when it comes to scoring the highest average against Ashwin on Indian pitches, Root has now become above super.

His average will surprise you.

In this case, Dwayne Bravo of the Windies (162 runs, 32.40) is at the fifth position, while another batsman of the Windies, Dwayne Smith (193 runs, 38.60) is at the fourth position, but from here on, the upper position is completely occupied by England. It belongs to the batsmen.

At present, Ben Stokes (204, 20.40) is on the third position, which is enough to show how much of a problem Ashwin has proven to be for Stokes.

It is surprising to have such a low average, while another former captain Alastair Cook (314, 44.85) is fourth and now Root is at first place in terms of average against Ashwin (324, 64.80).
