When fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was rested in the Ranchi Test against England, Bihar's Red Akash Deep got a chance to wear the Test cap and the wait for the 27-year-old bowler's long struggle is finally over.

When Akashi Deep was handed the debut test cap, his mother was also present on the field.

But everything was not so easy for the fast bowler, who had to leave cricket to make a living a few years ago.

Akash Deep is a resident of Sasaram.

Despite not getting support from his father, Akash moved to Durgapur on the pretext of finding a job and one of his uncles recognized his love for cricket and supported him.

Akash Deep had to struggle for cricket. 

Akash Deep joined a local academy where he started impressing with his fast bowling.

But, before Akash could develop his talent into something bigger, his father suffered a stroke and passed away.

Two months after the death of his father, Akash's elder brother also died.

Had given up cricket.

This situation created a big crisis in Akash's family, there was no money in the house.

To take care of his mother, Akash had to stop playing cricket for three years and earn money to run the house.

Akash tried to change the direction of his life but his love for cricket could not keep him away from the game for long.

He returned to Durgapur, and then moved to Kolkata, where he first lived in a small rented room with his cousin.

After becoming the 313th player,

Akash joined the Bengal Under-23 team and made his debut in 2019.

After this came the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore, which signed him before the IPL 2022 season.

On February 23, 2024, Akash Deep became the 313th player to play for India in Test cricket.
