The national hockey team of Ukraine

 made it to the final round of selection for the 2026 Olympics.

In the final round of prequalification for the 2026 Olympic Games, the Ukrainians defeated the Estonian team with a score of 5:3.

The first period "blue-yellow" won with a difference of three pucks - Vadim Mazur, Pylyp Pangelov-Yuldashev and Vitaly Lyalka scored.

At the start of the second twenty minutes, Robert Arrak reduced the gap between the Estonians, but the Ukrainian national team quickly responded with the efforts of Yevhen Fadeev. However, Vadym Vasyonkin's puck allowed Estonia to get closer to our team again.

In the third period, the struggle was tense. Mark Virtanen helped the Estonians get within one goal of the Ukrainians, but the "blue-yellow" team managed to hold on for the win. Moreover, Oleksandr Peresunko scored the fifth puck in the opponent's goal, guaranteeing victory for the Ukrainians.

Thus, the national team of Ukraine won all three matches of its group. In previous matches, the Ukrainians defeated South Korea (4:0) and won a shootout against Poland (3:2).

Thanks to these results, the Ukrainian national team finished first in its group and won a ticket to the decisive round of Olympic qualification, which will take place in August 2024.

In the final round of qualification for the 2026 Olympics, the Ukrainian national team competes in the same group as Slovakia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. In order to enter the Olympic Games, a Ukrainian must take first place in the quartet.
