Parthiv Patel said that it is challenging for the team to reach the right combination for the T20 World Cup.

Parthiv Patel on right combination for T20 World Cup: The Indian team that has been announced for the upcoming T20 series against South Africa is mostly the same players who were recently given a chance for the five-match T20 series against Australia. This means that during the series on the South African tour, the responsibility of winning Team India will be on the team with young players, whose maximum players will go on the South African tour for the first time. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will not be seen playing in this series.

After returning from the South Africa tour, India has to play T20 series against Afghanistan. This will be India's last T20 series before the IPL and former India wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel said the team finds it challenging to get the right combination for the T20 World Cup. He said that this has been the problem of Team India in tournaments played in recent years.

"For me India's biggest challenge has always been finding the right combination, especially in the T20 format. And we don't have matches. Now we are talking about only three Afghanistan matches, if Virat or Rohit or Bumrah play in them. So I think that's something that India will have to keep in mind," he said.

The IPL is to be held before the T20 World Cup 2024 and in such a situation, this time the IPL is going to be very important for Indian players. Parthiv said about this, "Otherwise, they will have to go with someone who has done well in the IPL. But then you also have to announce the team in the middle of the IPL. So it's a challenge. I am sure before announcing the squad, they must have thought about who is in line for the World Cup and whether we want to bring them in for the Afghanistan series. It's a complicated situation."

Jasprit Bumrah has played only two T20s in a year, although during this time he was out of the team due to injury. Both Rohit and Kohli have not played a T2022I since India's exit from the 20 T20 World Cup. Ravindra Jadeja, who has not played a T20 match since August last year, will return as the vice-captain of the team in the South Africa series.

"I think they are looking at more options going with this young team. There is no dearth of talent supply in India. The problem of abundance is still a problem and we have to find the right combination. In all the tournaments he has played, India was not beaten by any team, he was defeated tactically. Whether it was the 2023 final, the 2021 T20 World Cup where India was playing the old T20 game, there was a problem of number 2019 in 4.

Parthiv Patel also expressed concern over who will lead India in the next T20 World Cup. "I think Rahul Dravid will be the coach, there is confusion about it as well. We don't know who will be the captain. I think their biggest problem in this World T20 will be finding the right combination."
