Glenn Maxwell on World Cup Winning Moment

Glenn Maxwell on WC Trophy Moment: The final of the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 was heartbreaking for the fans of the Indian cricket team. After 10 consecutive wins, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team was favourites in the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 final against Australia. However, the Pat Cummins-led side did their best for the last and outplayed the hosts in every part in Ahmedabad. They first restricted India to a below-normal score and then easily reached the target. PM Narendra Modi was at the venue and presented the Cricket World Cup trophy to Australia captain Pat Cummins after the final.

Pat Cummins' Australia teammate Glenn Maxwell referred to the World Cup presentation ceremony. "It was fun watching the video of the post-match presentation where he shook hands with Modi and got stuck on the podium," Maxwell told theage.com.au. "It felt like it lasted about 10 minutes, he was standing right there with the trophy and waiting for the group to come but in reality he tackled it with the class. He just thought 'you know what, I'll wait here, be respectful.'

In a video shared by PIB, PM Modi was seen consoling the disappointed team, speaking to the players individually. "You guys have come to win the whole 10-10 games, this keeps happening. Smile brother, the country is watching you guys. I thought I'd meet everyone. (You have won 10 games in a row. It's a normal loss, it happens. Please smile, the whole country is watching you.
