Aakash Chopra on Bhuvneshwar Kumar: Former opener explains why Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not get a place in the team

Aakash Chopra on Bhuvneshwar Kumar: The Indian team's tour of South Africa is starting on December 10 and Team India will be seen in a different color on this tour. On this tour, the Indian team will play a series of three T20 Internationals, three ODIs and two Test matches and Team India will be led by different captains in all three series. While Rohit Sharma will lead the Test side, the ODI team will be led by KL Rahul while Suryakumar Yadav will lead the T20 team. However, the selectors have not given Bhuvneshwar Kumar a place in the team for this series, which is shocking for many veterans. When Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not get a chance, the fans are speculating whether the fast bowler's career is over.

At the same time, former India player and commentator believes that Bhuvneshwar Kumar's career is not looking good at present. Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel, "Me and you won't decide his career because we are not selectors, and who are we to say this is over or there is a long career left? It doesn't look good in the current scenario. It feels like a roadblock has arrived."

Aakash Chopra further said, "You are not getting opportunities. You had a good Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and a good IPL as well, but you are not being picked anywhere. It was decided long ago that they won't pick him in ODIs, but now they are not picking him in T20s as well.

Aakash Chopra further said that the BCCI selectors are now looking at young bowlers. Aakash Chopra further said, "So it seems that the selectors have started looking in the other direction and they have an option. This is really commendable for Indian cricket, you always have so many options available that you can go with someone else. So forget Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Deepak Chahar, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, and then you forget Umran Malik, with whom you played a match four months ago. So that's the reality of Indian cricket. So for Bhuvi, you get the drift."

Former India pacer Ashish Nehra also said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar was a bowler who could have got a chance keeping in mind the conditions in South Africa. "I am not at all surprised that the selectors have picked three different teams. Almost everyone's name has come up. There will hardly be a player whose name will not be in it.

"The only name that comes to my mind is because you are going to South Africa, and you have picked a lot of fast bowlers, and that name is Bhuvneshwar Kumar. I understand you have other options for the new ball, you have Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar is playing.
