The central match of the 14th round of the English Premier League (EPL) between Manchester City and Tottenham ended in a loud scandal. In the last minutes of the meeting, the main referee Simon Hooper stopped a potentially goal-scoring attack of the "citizens", which caused a flurry of indignation among the team's striker Erling Haaland.

In the fourth of five minutes compensated for the second half, with the score 3:3, Josep Guardiola's wards dispersed a quick counterattack. A Tottenham player brought down Holland in midfield, but the Norwegian instantly got up from the turf and brought his teammate Jack Grealish one-on-one with the Spurs goalkeeper with a great preface.

However, at that moment, the referee decided to cut off a dangerous attack by Manchester City. Moreover, immediately Hooper did not record a foul against Haaland, since the ball remained under the control of the "citizens", but then whistled a violation of the rules and stopped the game, somehow disrupting Grealish's exit to meet the goalkeeper of "Tottenham".

In response, Holland was furious. The Norwegian emotionally yelled at the referee, for which he received a yellow card.

Moreover, after the end of the match, Erling posted a video of the scandalous episode on Twitter, briefly captioning: "What the hell?".

After the match, Guardiola also commented on the incident involving his forward.

"Haaland's reaction? This is normal. He's a little disappointed. Even the referee, if he played for City today, would be disappointed because of this decision," said the Sky Blues manager.

It is possible that he will not get away with Holland's violent reaction. The striker may face disqualification for a certain number of matches.

It will be recalled that the match between Manchester City and Tottenham ended with a score of 3:3. The reigning champion of England dramatically lost the victory - in the 90th minute of the match, Dejan Kulusevski brought Spurs a draw.

After the 14th round, Manchester City (30 points) is in third place in the Premier League. The Citizens are one point behind Liverpool and three points behind the Arsenal of Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Tottenham, which broke its streak of three consecutive defeats in the English championship with a draw with Guardiola's team, is in fifth position with 27 points. Angelos Postecoglou's men are just two points behind the top 4.

In the next round, Manchester City will meet Aston Villa away on December 6, and Spurs will host West Ham a day later.
