Rahul Dravid's big statement: "I haven't signed the contract yet..."

Rahul Dravid's tenure as the head coach of the Indian cricket team ended with the end of the ODI World Cup 2023. But after this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India decided to go ahead with Rahul Dravid and the board extended his term. The BCCI not only extended Rahul Dravid's tenure as head coach but also decided to give an extension to his support staff. However, the BCCI did not say how long Rahul Dravid's tenure has been extended. At the same time, Rahul Dravid has given a big statement about his second term.

On Thursday, a meeting of Rahul Dravid and team management was held in Delhi. This meeting was about the selection of Team India for the tour of South Africa. When former India captain Rahul Dravid arrived to attend this meeting, the journalists present there asked him questions about the World Cup review meeting and contract, Rahul Dravid said that he has not signed the agreement yet.


"It has been officially announced, I haven't signed the contract with the BCCI yet but the tenure has been discussed. Once I get the papers, I will sign it," he said.

Some media reports on Wednesday claimed that Rahul Dravid's tenure is till next year's T20 World Cup, but whether his tenure will be extended after that will be decided according to the team's performance in the T20 World Cup. Apart from Rahul Dravid, the BCCI has also extended the tenure of batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dileep and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.

This will be Dravid's second stint with Team India and it will start with the tour of South Africa from December 10. India are scheduled to play three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests in South Africa. After this, before the ICC T20 World Cup in the West Indies / USA in June, the team has to play a five-match Test series against England at home. Dravid replaced Ravi Shastri after a disappointing performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Rahul Dravid was appointed for two years.
