Shardul Thakur: Shardul Thakur has been released by KKR.

New Delhi:

IPL 2024 Retention Updates: On the last day of players' trading and release on Sunday for next year's IPA, there were many surprising decisions, and some big decisions were also taken. While Delhi Capitals took a big decision and released ten players in one stroke, the release of some more big players was also surprising. And there was also Shardul Thakur, who was a member of Team India in the World Cup 2023, who has been released by KKR. Now that he has not been traded to any team, Thakur will now have to register his name for the auction to be held on December <>.

Thakur was bought for a hefty amount.

KKR had spent a hefty amount from their purse for Shardul. Till 2021, Thakur had not received more than Rs 2.60 crore, but in the last two years, his value has increased manifold. In 2022, Delhi bought Thakur for Rs 10.75 crore, while KKR also paid the same amount to Thakur for the year 2023

Because of this, KKR called it Tata.

The KKR management had invested a huge amount in Thakur, but according to this amount, Shardul did not live up to the expectations. Shardul, who was included as an all-rounder in the World Cup 2023, scored 11 runs in 14 matches for KKR in the last edition at an average of 13.113, while Thakur took only 21 wickets in 7 overs in the same matches, his economy run-rate was 10.48, which was the biggest reason for his release.
