Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya

New Delhi:

India's T20 captain Hardik Pandya (Hardik Pandya left Gujarat Titans) may leave Gujarat Titans and join Mumbai Indians again in 'trading' ahead of this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. It is almost completely clear because Gujarat Titans have released Hardik, which is quite surprising. Mumbai Indians refused to comment on the development and will have to wait till November 26 when the IPL's trading window closes. Hardik played for Mumbai for seven seasons in the IPL and was 'released' before the 2022 season. After joining Gujarat Titans, Hardik led this new team of IPL to the final of this T20 tournament for two consecutive times. In their debut season, the Gujarat team also won the title.

Can't confirm because of this

"Yes, I can confirm that Gujarat has released Hardik, but the contract has not been signed yet," an IPL source who has been tracking the developments at Gujarat Titans told PTI.

The situation is also not clear about Jofra Archer.

Mumbai has not yet confirmed whether it has decided to release Jofra Archer or not. Mumbai bought the England pacer for a whopping Rs 8 crore but he missed most of the matches in the last two seasons due to an injury.

Now the big question is...

If Gujarat Titans captain Hardik joins Mumbai, the biggest question will be whether he will play under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, under whose captaincy Mumbai Indians have won five titles. There are some questions that remain unanswered and the picture will be clear only when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially announces the final trading list.

Last day of trading on November 26

The IPL 2024 auction is going to be held on December 19, while the trading window will be closed till November 26. So far, Romario Shepherd, Devdutt Padikkal and Avesh Khan have been traded from their teams to other teams. Shepherd has been traded from Lucknow Super Giants to Mumbai Indians, Padikkal from Rajasthan Royals to Lucknow Super Giants and Avesh from Lucknow to Rajasthan Royals. There may be news of some more players being traded and released from the rest of the teams.
