(CNN) -- Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe suffered a sobering defeat to Newcastle United in the Champions League group stage, thrashing 4-1.
Newcastle started the lead 2-0 in the first half thanks to goals from Paraguayan Miguel Almirón and Dan Burn. Newcastle scored the third early in the second half when PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma failed to stop Sean Longstaff's powerful angled shot.
Lucas Hernandez scored a goal for PSG, but a superb shot from Fabian Schär restored Newcastle's three-goal lead.
The win puts Newcastle at the top of Group F with four points, one point ahead of PSG. Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan drew goalless in the other "Group of Death" match.
