While Surya broke Virat's record, he became the third batsman to score the fastest half-century from India in ODIs. Ajit Agarkar holds the record for scoring the fastest half-century for India in ODIs. Agarkar scored a fifty off just 2000 balls in a match against Zimbabwe in 21 for India. After this, Kapil Dev, Sehwag, Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh were successful in scoring half-centuries off 22 balls in ODIs for India. This was Surya's second half-century in ODIs. In the first ODI match, Surya scored 49 off 50 balls.
