The Polish national football team has officially received a new head coach. It was a 50-year-old Polish specialist Michał Probierz.

This was announced by the Polish Football Association on its official website.

As the helmsman of Kadra, Probezh replaced the Portuguese Fernando Santos, who was fired due to the team's unsatisfactory results in the selection for Euro-2024.

After five matches played, the Poles are only fourth in the group with Albania (6 points), the Czech Republic (10), Moldova (8) and the Faroe Islands (8) with 1 points.

Santos has led the Polish national team since January 2023. Under his leadership, the Poles lost three times in qualifying for the European Championship: the Czech Republic (1:3), Moldova (2:3) and Albania (0:2).

Until recently, Probezh headed the youth national team of Poland (U-21). He also worked with Cracovia and Jagiellonia, with whom he won the Polish Cup and Super Cup.

The Poles will play their next match in the Euro 2024 qualifiers on October 12 away against the Faroe Islands.

It will be recalled that the two best teams from each group will reach the final part of the 2024 European Championship. The winners of three more tickets to the continental championship will be determined in the playoffs, where 12 teams will get depending on their performances in the League of Nations-2022/23.

The draw for the final part of Euro-2024 will take place in December 2023, and the tournament itself will be hosted by Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. The German national team, as the host of the tournament, got to the continental championship without selection.
