The famous Spanish defender Sergio Ramos will continue his career at Sevilla.

The signing of the 37-year-old footballer was announced on the official website.

The agreement of the ex-captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team with Sevilla is for one season.

Ramos moved to the Andalusian club as a free agent. This summer, he left the French PSG, where he spent two seasons.

Earlier it was reported that Ramos had offers from Saudi Arabia, but the Spaniard decided to return to his homeland.

It should be noted that Sevilla is Ramos' home club. It was here that he began his professional career before moving to Real Madrid in 2005. The defender managed to play 50 matches for the Nerviones, scoring three goals.

He played 16 seasons for Real Madrid. For the Madrid club, Sergio played in 671 matches, scored 101 goals and gave 49 assists. Ramos has won 22 trophies, including four Champions League victories and five Spanish league titles.

Since the summer of 2021, Ramos has played for PSG. In the shirt of the French club, the defender played 58 matches and scored 6 goals. Sergio won the French championship twice with the Parisians and won the country's Super Cup once.

As part of the Spanish national team, Sergio played 180 matches, in which he scored 23 goals. He is the best defender-scorer in the history of national teams.

Sevilla had a disastrous start to the new La Liga season, losing all three matches. Currently, the current winner of the Europa League closes the standings of the Spanish championship.
