Why Rohit and Kohli didn't play in the second ODI, says Dravid

Rahul Dravid on Rohit and Kohli: In the second ODI, the West Indies team managed to win by 6 wickets and also managed to equalize the series. In the second ODI, there were shocking changes in the Indian playing XI. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli (Kohli-Rohit) were rested. But after the absence of these two, the Indian batting order was exposed, unable to cope with the pace, bounce and turn against the West Indies, due to which the team was reduced to 40 runs in 5.181 overs in the rain-affected second ODI here on Saturday. At the same time, chasing the target, the West Indies team won the match by 6 wickets.

Let us know that the decision to rest Rohit and Kohli just 10 matches before the World Cup is being criticized a lot. In such a situation, the team's coach Rahul Dravid has given the reason behind Kohli and Rohit not playing. The reason behind giving Kohli and Rohit rest is to give a chance to new players.

Dravid said, "We are trying the players. We want to give such players a chance so that it can be clear how these players can perform. We have less time now. There are 10-11 games left before the World Cup, so we wanted to give those players a chance. Now it is up to those players how they are able to take advantage of this opportunity.

"To be honest, we won't get too many answers, but some of our players are injured. There is still uncertainty about his play. So we want to see other players as well."

"We are not too concerned about the opinion of others, these are the talented boys of our country, they have all come here after performing... It is up to them to take advantage of the opportunity when they are given the opportunity... We were a bit disappointed, we knew it was a difficult wicket and not an easy wicket to bat on, but we had to somehow get to 230-240 which could have been a very good score... We lost wickets in the middle and were 50-60 runs short.
