PSG have announced the appointment of Luis Enrique as head coach of the team.

The contract between the Parisians and the 53-year-old Spanish specialist is for two years, according to the official website of the French club.

At the helm of the Paris grandee, Enrique replaced the previously fired Christophe Galtier, who was recently detained by police due to a racist scandal.

Enrique's last job was with the Spanish national team, which he left after his departure from the 2022 World Cup. In the 1/8 finals of the World Cup, the Spaniards lost to Morocco in a penalty shootout.

Enrique has worked with the Spanish national team since 2019. Under his leadership, the Red Fury reached the semifinals of Euro 2020, where it lost in a penalty shootout to the Italian team, and also reached the final of the Nations League.

Previously, Enrique managed Roma, Celta and Barcelona. With the Catalans, he became the champion of Spain twice, won the Spanish Cup three times, the Spanish Super Cup, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup once.

Last season, PSG won the French championship. The Paris grand won the "gold" of the national championship for the ninth time in the last 11 years. Also, the Parisians won the French Super Cup, but flew out of the Champions League at the stage of 1/8 finals.
