This is Arsenal's first transfer this off-season and the second most expensive in the club's history. Only Lille paid more for Nicolas Pepe (£70m 2019).

Chelsea acquired Havertz in 2020 from German side Bayer for €80million. During this time, he played 132 matches for the Blues, in which he scored 32 goals and 15 assists.

It was his accurate goal that brought the Seniors victory over Manchester City in the 2020/21 Champions League final. Kai also won the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with the Blues.

Last season, Havertz made 47 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, notching 9 goals and one assist.

The Arsenal newcomer has been playing for the German national team since 2018. He has 13 goals in 37 matches in the national team shirt.

Thus, Havertz, who was a teammate of Ukrainian Mykhailo Mudryk at Chelsea, will now play for Arsenal along with our other compatriot – Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Earlier it was reported that Manchester City announced the transfer of another star player of Chelsea – midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
