Dnipro-1 won silver in the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) of the 2022/23 season, leaving Zorya Luhansk with only bronze medals.

In the match of the final round of the national championship, the Dnipro club beat Kryvbas (1:0), while Zorya defeated Mynai (0:3).

Before the final round, Dnipro-1 and Zorya had the same number of points, but Oleksandr Kucher's team was ahead of Lugansk in terms of face-to-face meetings. Therefore, it was important for the Dnipro residents to play no worse than their competitor.

"Dnipro-1" for a long time could not score against "Kryvbas", but still achieved its goal. In the 73rd minute, Domingo Blanco scored a goal that brought his team victory.

In the parallel match, Zorya scored twice against Mynai in the first half – Nazariy Rusin and Arseniy Batagov scored. In addition, in the 40th minute, Rusin did not realize a penalty. In the second half, Rusin rehabilitated himself for a mistake from the 11-meter mark and scored for the second time from the game in the 57th minute, thus completing a double.

So, at the end of the season, "Dnipro-1" (67 points) took second place in the UPL, ahead of "Zorya" (67 points) in additional indicators. Therefore, it was the Dnipro team who won a ticket to the Champions League qualification, and Patrick van Leeuwen's team will play in the qualifying round of the Europa League.

Kryvbas (41 points) finished the UPL season in seventh place and did not qualify for European competitions. "Mynay" (33 points) finished tenth and retained a residence permit in the elite division.
