Manchester City won the FA Cup for the 2022/23 season. Josep Guardiola's team won the trophy, beating Manchester United 2:1 in the final match at Wembley Stadium in London.

The "townspeople" opened the scoring already in the 13th second of the meeting. An accurate strike after Kevin De Bruyne's pass was scored by Ilkay Gündogan.

The German midfielder authored the fastest goal in the history of the FA Cup finals. The previous record belonged to Everton forward Louis Saa, who scored in the 25th second of the 2008/09 FA Cup final.

In the 33rd minute, the Red Devils managed to equalize the score. The ball accidentally hit the hand of Jack Greelish in the penalty area of the "sky blue" – the referee decided to award a penalty. Bruno Fernandes coolly realized the eleven-meter.

At the start of the second half, Manchester City took the lead again as Gündogan completed a double, closing in on a serve from De Bruyne. It was this goal that became the winning one. Before the final whistle, Erik ten Hag's men failed to recoup.

On the way to the final, Manchester City knocked out Chelsea (4:0), Arsenal (1:0), Bristol City (3:0), Burnley (6:0) and Sheffield United (3:0).

Manchester City won the FA Cup for the seventh time in history. Previously, the "townspeople" won this tournament in 1904, 1934, 1956, 1969, 2011 and 2019.

Recall that this season Guardiola's team can arrange a treble. The "townspeople" have already become champions of the Premier League, and also reached the final of the Champions League, where on June 10 they will meet with Inter Milan.
