(CNN Spanish) -- Lionel Messi lives his last hours as a PSG player and this Saturday he will play his last game at the Parc des Princes.

After several weeks in which there was speculation about his departure from the team, PSG coach Christophe Galtier finally confirmed Messi's departure.

"I have had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. This will be his last match at the Parc des Princes, and I hope he receives the warmest of welcomes," Galtier told reporters Thursday.

Messi's last game at PSG will be against Clermont, which corresponds to the last day of the French Ligue 1 2022/2023.

The Parisian club comes into this match already as the Ligue 1 champions after drawing last week against Racing Strasbourg, and will now simply look to close the current season as an "excellent qualifying", as Galtier said.
